VC1001: Markup isn't well-formed XML

The markup can't be parsed as XML, so it can't be saved or rendered.

How to fix

Every element needs an end tag (or />), tags must close in the order they opened, and there must be exactly one root element. Simple slips are fixed for you when you save: unclosed <br> and <img>, a bare &, unquoted attribute values. The message says where the parser stopped; the real mistake is usually just before that.
